  (RGwt) Ratling Gun weapon team

Deployment
----------
I wanted him to go to far and hit him with my knights in the middle with some hope to break the center and then turn back in turn 3 or 4...
When the Abdomination showed up on my left i decided to put my Heroic killing blow Paladin wiht the KE in hope to make a short work of him
BSB in KotR and Profetess with the MaA.

Skaven -
BSB and Warlord with clanrats
Plague priest + Plague furnace with the plague monks

Terrain:
Swamp = Dangerous Terrain test on 1 and  2
Ruin south = more chaneling dices

Turn 1 - Skaven
---------------
Movment:
Abdomination rolled 15" for his move.... !

Magic: None

Shooting: none
The Storm banner comes in play (-2 to hit for my archers and treb can only fire on 4+)

Turn 1 - Bretonnia
------------------
Charges:
KE charge the Abdomination

Movment:
Profetess moves away from the pesants after the blessing of Quenelles

Magic: Nothing special...

Shooting: Trebuchet makes a direct hit on the furnace, yay !

But he has the 5pts Ironcurse icon and makes a ward save on 6+, merde!
6 kills on the monks though.

Close combat:
The heroic paladin rolls off a killing blow and no regens for the Abdomination and its dead on my first turn !
Combat refrom on the knights and they loses 3 in the dangerous terrain test (1-2 instead of 1's) bummer

Turn 2 - Skaven
---------------
Movment:
Slaves on the left stays, healthy affraid of the swamp.

Magic:
fizzel, nothing comes through

Shooting:
nope

Close combat:
nada, sissy rats :p

Turn 2 - Bretonnia
------------------
Charges:
KE on the left does NOT pase the impetius test and rushes through the swap onto the slaves with lances pointing towards ... what the hell!

KotR and MaA declare charges at the slaves who flees. Redirect to the Plague Monks and a small prayer from my side, because this one looks like a unhealthy unit of rats.

KotR Makes the charge but the MaA fails... crap (although this turns out to be a great thing later on)

Movment:
Profetess follw the knights in hope of healing them if this turns ugly.

Magic:
Everything dispeled..

Shooting:
Trebuchet misses, archers dosent make on wound on the Clan Rats

Close combat:
KE breaks the slaves and they explode due to not being in command radius of the general, no casualties for the noble sons of Bretonnia.  Combat reform and guess what happens !!!
Only TWO makes it with the Paladin. FIVE of them drowns in the swamp (ghaaaaaaa, Murphy what have i done wrong)

KotR with my BSB makes rat pie out of the priest with a challenge and the knights puts his followers to the lance and kills 4, but hey they are unbreakable ! And now i have a T6 war-thingy that will be very hard to wound 6 times with only S3/4

Turn 3 - Skaven
---------------
Rally:
Slaves on the right rally and reform

Movment:
Slaves on the left moves up and spits at my knights to make them angry.
The Clan Rats moves up but wont charge, I think he wants to grind the knights a bit more :(

Magic:
Noting...

Shooting:
The Ratling Gun fires away and kills the remaining two KE, the Paladin feels kinda lonley on the left flank.

Close Combat:
The KotR and Plauge Monks changes blow a few more of them dies and some knights falls to the ground. The furnace makes some special thingy-wrecking ball and hit itself with two woundds, still unbreakable though

Turn 3 - Bretonnia
------------------
Movment:
The Paladin on my left makes a march for it and ends up close to the Ratling Gun (it can pivot and shoot ya know... i found that out in the next turn :O )

Magic:
Again my Profetess cant get anything through

Shooting:
nope, i forgot the trebuchet (doh! )

Close combat:
KotR still kicking it of with the Plauge Monks, exchanging wounds and special attacks.

Turn 4 - Skaven
---------------
Movment:
Slaves on the left and right moves up, Clan Rats hold as he don't want to risk a counter charge in the flank by MaA if my knights passes their Ld-test.
The Ratling Gun pivots.... iiik, I thought I was safe behind it !

Magic:
nope

Shooting:
The Ratling Gun rolls 1 and 1 - missfire and kaboom !  Now that was a lucky break for my lone Paladin.

Close combat:
More exchanging, im getting killed here, a slow and grinding death...

Turn 4 - Bretonnia
------------------
Charges:
Paladin makes a 16" charge and hits the furnace in the rear, Heroic killing blow, be my friend!

Movment:
MaA weels up to protect the knights flank

Magic:
fizzel, nothing comes through

Shooting:
Treb misses and archers kills 5 slaves on the right

Close combat:
My Paldin does not kill off the Furnace and we are in trouble, 3 wounds on it though, but still unbreakable.

Turn 5 - Skaven
---------------
Charges:
Slaves on the right charges my archers, they stand and shoot to no avail.

Movment:
Slaves on the left lines up for a doublecharge on my MaA if the knights flees.

Magic: nope

Shooting: nope

Close combat:
Furnace finaly dies and the Plague Monks break and are under 25%
Paladin pursues and Knights reforms.

Slaves breaks my archers and overruns into my Trebuchet who also breaks and they are of the table

Turn 5 - Bretonnia
------------------
Charges:
MaA charges the slaves
KotR charges the Clan Rats
Paladin Charges the Plague Monks, they flee of the table

Movment:
none

Magic:
Nothing comes through, again !

Shooting:
All dead

Close combat
Challenge from my BsB/KotR to the General, declined (guess my killing blow on charge might have something to do with it) Champion steps up and bites the dust. Steadfast so they hold
MaA beats the slaves and they explode, reform.

Turn 6 - Skaven
---------------
Movment:
Slaves come back after feasting on the trebuchet crew

Close combat:
BsB challanges again and this time he steps up. One wound each. Knights loses by 2 and hold

Turn 6 - Bretonnia
------------------
Charge by MaA in the flank of the Clan Rats

Magic:
For the love of god!!! not one spell yet to work

Shooting:
nope

Close combat:
My KotR Champion saved by the lady (ward 6+) for a lot of victory points, phu!
MaA hits a few and takes few.
Rats hold

FIN

--------------------
A crushing victory for the Defenders of the Lady and the skaven scum must flee to the sewers from were they came.

This one could have gone either way, i got lucky with my HKB but the 5p ward on the Furnace was a game saver for the skaven. If he had lost that in turn 1 i think it would have been a rather easy battle. That furnace is a menace...

  1. I recall that the the pleague monks were 34 in number. Not that it matters much, but still.
Also, does this mean that Ante has to paint his A-Bomb with a six-pack (abomination = a horrendous affront to nature, abdomen = the area between the chest and the pelvis (i.e. groin)). And for his second it should be a Pec-domination, with prominent chest muscles.
    :P
I had the same word-malfunction for about six months after I first encountered the word.
